Activities: Dot art number 10, practice writing the letter Oo, computers, make penguins using an avocado, practice writing numbers and play with snow in sensory table

School notes:
The children made an awesome ocean mural that is hanging in the hall by our room. Come and see all the ocean animals that they have learned about!!!  

Remember, we have gym every Wednesday.  Please have your child wear gym shoes on this day. Also, the four year olds that come to school have gym on Thursdays.

Please continue to work on letters and sounds with your child. I am starting to put children in small groups and work with them during gym time.  Those children that know all letters and sounds will be introduced to sight words.

Book fair will be going on from Sunday, January 25th thru Tuesday, January 27th.  Flyers were sent home on Friday.  Book fair will be open before school 8:15-9:00 a.m. and 11:15 - 3:15 p.m.  

This week is Catholic Schools Week.  Many fun all school activities are planned for this week.  

I will be assessing the children again on all their letters, sounds, colors and numbers in February.  

Upcoming:
January 25th- Open house 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p,.m.
January 26th - Computers and Manhattan Police will be visiting our classroom to talk about strangers.  It is also Crazy Hat Day.
 January 27th - Grandparents Day (Children can have grandparents or special guest come visit them at school.  They are welcome to attend mass with children.) Coffee and donuts will be served in school gym after mass and awards ceremony.  Mass starts at 8:45 a.m.
It is also Dress Up Day-Wear your best attire to school.  
January 29th - Mismatch Attire Day and gym
January 30th- Pajama Day (for the letter P) Children will be watching movie "Finding
Nemo".  Popcorn will be served during the movie.  Children can wear pajamas and bring blankets and pillows to school.  Also, the teachers are playing volleyball against the 8th graders at 2:00 p.m.  Preschool children are welcome to come to school with parents to watch the game.  Mrs. Loichinger will be playing in the game!!!
